Project Engineer - Sustainability Job Accountabilities We are seeking a Sustainability Project Engineer with a focus on water management and reporting.
The position serves in a support role to ensure the integrity of Crown's external reporting and management of customer requests, in addition to managing independent sustainability projects.
This individual will report directly to the Director of Global Sustainability and will have frequent interactions with the full global regulatory and sustainability team, and additionally with the Company's global business unit leadership teams.
Specific job responsibilities will include:
o Assist in the preparation and execution of a global glidepath for water savings o Review and oversee the Company's water data o Lead the management of WASH standards and water compliance standards at our facilities globally o Work with Crown's global sustainability team to input into external, third-party sustainability reporting such as:
CDP, DJSI, TCND, and other reporting o Provide support for regional divisions as they evaluate efficiency managemento Identify and build execution of capital projects for water savingso Serve as the team's water project management subject matter expert o Share management of biodiversity-related initiatives and projects o Stay abreast of forthcoming sustainability reporting regulations insofar as it relates to GRI, IFRS/ISSB, etc.
o Monitor, assess and communicate to senior leaders the implications of water methodologies for Crown's reporting and for customer responseso This role may represent the Company in industry group meetings o Must lead projects, including use of tools like Microsoft Office to organize teams and ensure detailed communication of progress towards goals.
o Work directly with 3rd Party organizations to submit company reports and information on sustainability goals and resultso Analysis of data, evaluation of results and creation of technical reports, recommending further actions to be taken.
o Other projects as assigned Job Requirements for this position include:
o Degree in environmental science, biology, sustainability or a related field is preferredo Fluency in the full Microsoft Office suiteo Professional demeanor and ability to communicate well with both internal and external customers In addition to above, the preferred/ideal candidate will demonstrate success in the following areas:
o Prior experience in managing environmental management systems and/or environmental fieldwork o Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlineso Experience and/or familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 14001 and GRIo Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with different levels of management, and work well on a team environment with shared responsibilities o Initiative demonstrated by the individual's approach to streamline processes and the ability to independently manage their workload o Experience with managing budgets o 2
years of relevant experienceo Preference for a candidate with on-site manufacturing experience - candidate must be able to physically walk in and around manufacturing facilities Locationo On-Site - Tinley Park, Illinois USA Travelo 10-20% About the Company:
